The Mission Behind "Making the Impossible Possible"

In a year that has turned healthcare facilities upside down across the country, STARC Systems would like to recognize and thank the healthcare facility professionals that have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure their hospitals remain safe and patients, staff and visitors feel protected during the ongoing fight against COVID-19.

The pandemic response has presented unprecedented and unexpected challenges. We'd like to celebrate and recognize the outstanding efforts of hospitals and their facilities teams by telling their stories and offering $1,000 in PPE donations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who qualifies?
Any hospital or healthcare institution directly serving patients in a clinical setting that has had to adapt in some way to ensure patient and employee safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
How are donation recipients selected?

Each nomination submission is coded for anonymity to prevent bias from the independent selection committee member(s). Selection committee will read all the nomination submissions and grade them based on the presence of criteria/attributes and the quality of the story. Grades will be based on:

  • Problem solving acumen
  • Outstanding Effort
  • Impact to those in their care
  • Care and Compassion
  • Teamwork
How many nominees will be selected?
Our intent is to select and award a winner every other week until 1/31/2021.
How do the donations work?

Selected nominees will receive EITHER

(a) a $1,000 donation of PPE to the selected hospital’s general endowment fund or specific COVID-19 support fund (if the hospital has specific protocols in place to receive)

OR

(b) if protocols are not in place for a selected hospital to receive donations then a $1,000 donation will be made in their name to a non-profit of their choice

Can the same hospital be entered more than once?
Submissions are cumulative, so if a submission is made in week one, it will remain a candidate throughout the campaign unless selected for the award. Multiple submissions for the same hospital will be judged as a single unit and will not increase the chances of being selected.

*Selection committee will read all the nomination submissions and grade them based on the presence of criteria/attributes and the quality of the story. One Award made every two weeks through January 2021 by selection committee.  Recipient will be notified by email in the week the award is selected.

Decisions of selection committee are final. No substitutions on the award.  If award not claimed by April 1 for any reason, forfeited and will not be awarded. Recipients must agree to STARC System's publication of name and location of recipient to receive award. No purchase necessary; Void where prohibited.
